I am in a vacation state of mind. So, we just returned from a whirlwind trip to Oregon. I imagine that I’ll be talking about that quite a bit for the next while. It was a great trip, even if it meant the better part of the week in a car.
We rented a Ford Fiesta (great gas mileage, a little small for my 6\’2\” 300lb husband), and hooked my ipod into the sound system for cool road trip jams. We loaded up a cooler, and lots of healthy road trip snacks.
We went to La Grande, to visit friends (in the Northwest part of the state), across to Portland, and down to Corvallis (where Oregon State University is). While we didn’t go all the way to the coast on this trip, I definitely got a beachy vibe of inspiration.
I am totally set to go on a beach-hopping, ocean-scented, coconut, sea salt and sand-filled trip through the waves (or at least my bathroom), even if it’s just in my imagination. Also, I am needing a serious creativity fix. This trip has convinced me that a home spa beach day is in my future. I have a mini vacation coming up, and soaping, bath-crafting, and sewing are high on the to-do list. I have been neglecting my projects. That just won’t do.
To hold me over until I can make my own projects, and for further inspiration, pinterest is always my friend:
Also, I don\’t work with melt and pour soap that often, but I was thinking of making some beach glass type soap (similar to soap gems) scented with Sea Salt & Driftwood Fragrance Oil or a relaxing sea salt bath soak with Beach Type Fragrance Oil. I currently have both in my inventory. I love fresh, natural fragrances, and my last order was full of beachy, light, and crisp, fruity fragrances.
What are your favorite type of fragrances? Are you an ourdoorsy-person? Beaches? Mountains? Lots of Green? Inside next to as Crackling Fire?
MMM, Cinnamon and Apple Pie is a household winner around here.
